WeEngage for Zoom

How to add WeEngage from the Zoom App Marketplace, run a session in the side panel during a Zoom meeting, remove the app, and fix common problems.

Adding WeEngage to Zoom

Install from the Zoom App Marketplace

  1. Open the Zoom App Marketplace (from Zoom, click Apps and then Discover, or visit marketplace.zoom.us) and search for WeEngage.
  2. Click Add. Zoom shows what the app can do — WeEngage only asks to open inside your meetings and requests no access to your Zoom account, contacts, or recordings. Click Allow.
  3. Zoom opens with WeEngage in the apps panel. If it does not open on its own, click Apps in Zoom and choose WeEngage under My Apps.
  4. Sign in with your WeEngage email and password, or click Sign up to create an account. New accounts start with a free trial — no card needed. Signing up emails you a 6-digit code to confirm your address; enter it on the next screen. It is a code rather than a link so you never have to leave the Zoom panel to finish.

If your organization’s Zoom admin restricts which apps can be added, you may see a Request to add button instead. Zoom sends the request to your admin; once approved, come back and click Add.

Using WeEngage in a meeting

Open the app during a meeting

  1. In the meeting toolbar click Apps, then WeEngage. Your dashboard appears in the side panel. Drag the panel edge, or pop it out into its own window, if you want more room.
  2. Start a session: click Create New Session, or resume one from Active Sessions or start one from Upcoming Sessions. If you know when the meeting is, you can schedule the WeEngage session ahead of time for the same date, time, and time zone as the Zoom invite — the time zone starts as wherever you are now, so change it if the meeting is set in a different zone. It then waits under Upcoming Sessions until you start it. When you create it, the Meeting Context box (your “why we’re meeting” note, which participants see) has B, I, List, and Link buttons — handy for a short agenda or a link to a pre-read.
  3. Share the join code or link with participants — paste it into the Zoom chat, or read the code aloud. Participants go to weengage.app/join on any phone, tablet, or laptop. They do not need the Zoom app or a WeEngage account.
  4. Run the session exactly as you would in a browser: open a question, watch responses arrive live, show results, and move on. The full User Guide covers every question type, chat, the whiteboard, and AI insights.

Good to know inside Zoom

  • Your WeEngage account is separate from your Zoom account. Sign in once; Zoom keeps you signed in between meetings on the same computer.
  • Upgrading to Pro or managing billing opens your regular web browser, because payment is handled by Stripe on its own secure page — this is expected.
  • Sessions you run from Zoom appear on your dashboard everywhere else too, with the same exports and insights.

Removing WeEngage

Remove the app from Zoom

  1. Go to the Zoom App Marketplace and click Manage, then Added Apps.
  2. Find WeEngage and click Remove, then confirm.

Removing the app from Zoom does not delete your WeEngage account or your sessions — you can keep using WeEngage in a browser or add the app again later. WeEngage stores no Zoom data, so there is nothing else to clean up. To delete your WeEngage account itself, open your profile from the dashboard sidebar or email support@weengage.app.

Troubleshooting

The panel is blank or keeps loading

Update Zoom to the current version (in Zoom, click your profile picture, then Check for Updates) and open the app again. If you are on a work account, confirm with your Zoom admin that Zoom Apps are enabled for your account.

I can’t sign in

Use Forgot password? on the sign-in screen to reset it by email. If you signed up with a different email address than you expected, try Recover account. Still stuck? Email support with the address you used.

Participants can’t join

Check three things: the session is active (anything still under Upcoming Sessions needs to be started first), participants typed the join code exactly, and they are on weengage.app/join rather than searching inside Zoom. A session can hold up to 25 chat participants at once.

“Add” in the marketplace ended with an error

Try Add again from the Zoom App Marketplace. If it fails twice, sign in at weengage.app in a browser to confirm your account works, then email support with the time it happened so we can check our logs.
